Decanting is just a fancy term for moving the contents of your store-bought item from its original packaging to a different container, such as an airtight storage container. Do you store your flour or sugar in another container than the bag you bought it in? If so, you've decanted (and maybe didn't realize it until now).
Decanting is only for some, but there are times when it does make sense. In my household, I favor decanting for several reasons. The first is that decanting into clear containers gives a great visual of our inventory, which makes writing my grocery list super efficient. Our dry goods stay fresher for longer. No more opened bags of cereal or veggie straws thrown back into the pantry to become stale. Finally, when you decant into similar containers, it's SO visually pleasing to the eye. As with anything, there's always a con. The con for decanting is the initial cost of product; however, in my opinion, the above benefits outweigh the cost.
Are you team decant or no decant?
Yes I decant everything. Even cleaning products
